GIVEAWAY WINNER – #4 – Eileen of New York!
Well, it’s time for another craft book giveaway! This one is the brand new release from Interweave: “Growing Up Sew Liberated – making handmade clothes and projects for your creative child.”

This book, written by Meg McElwee, is organized in chapters that follow the activities in a child’s day. She starts with getting dressed which includes comfortable clothing patterns such as crossover tees, reversible sweatshirt, bubble pants, and baby leggings (CUTE!). Chapter 2 includes homemaking and cooking with bibs, placemats, and a silk ring sling.
The next two chapters cover inside and outside activities with a cloth doll, a cape, a satchel, a scavenger hunt bag, and a tent. The final chapter is about bedtime with patterns for pajamas, kitty puppet, and a sleep sack.
Each of the 18 projects includes a list of materials, pictures, step-by-step instructions, illustrations, and tips. In the back of the book there are sections on tools and materials, working with knits, and stitches and techniques. The patterns are located in a pocket attached to the inside cover.
The irresistible numbers was a really neat project. In addition to the pattern and instruction for this project, she includes suggestions for playing with these numbers.

From simple clothing to toys, this book is packed with playful sewing projects. If you are a mom, grandma, or anyone who has children in your life, the projects in this book will be fun to make and give. Looking through the toys, I would have loved to have the tent, the numbers, the doll, the kitty, the art satchel, and the dress up bucket when I was little. And the cape – what fun that would have been instead of a towel!
Now for the giveaway. This giveaway is open to ANYONE. However, due to shipping costs, winners from out of the United States would need to pay the shipping over what it would cost for me to send it in the States.
