We have a hard time getting away from Happy Acres during the growing season. However, we often take a day away to Nashville, Tennessee to see a concert at the Ryman. We saw Alison Krauss and Union Station Friday night. If you’ve never heard her or them, here is a clip of one of my favorite songs. I love the Dobro in this song.
We always stay overnight and the following morning we’ll go by Whole Foods. Since we’re pretty much stocked up, the last two visits we’ve hit the farmers market instead. I brought my camera this time to take pictures of all of the wonderful produce. We have farmers markets at home but nothing on this scale.

Since Hubby grows most of our food we were only there to pick up some stuff he doesn’t grow. We don’t need tomatoes but I just had to take a picture of that display!

Picked up some peaches from this stand. Even though we’ve bought a lot of local peaches, they are all either eaten or frozen. These are from South Carolina – not quite local.

I was strong and didn’t buy any of those cookies!
After making our purchases we were off to our favorite place to eat breakfast -Marche Artisan Food. It’s housed in an old car showroom!

As my Aunt Irene used to say, “There is nothing like a good cup of coffee.”
I had the omelet with a side of French toast. Yum!

It’s fun to get away for a day. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Definitely fun to get away for a day! Wow, those market pictures look like postcards. All the fruit and veg are so beautifully displayed!!

I live just outside of Nashville and have never heard of Marche Artisan Foods… It looks DE-licious!! I would love to know the address so that when we make our Nashville rounds as well we may stop in for a visit…
Thanks,
Rachel
Rachel, They are located at 1000 Main Street. Here is their website: http://www.marcheartisanfoods.com. Their menu is small and it changes every time we are there but it’s good food.
What great looking produce and so beautifully displayed-thanks for the tour.

Oh, goodness! I’ve been to Nashville a handful of times since moving to within an hour’s drive of it, but I had never even considered to look up a farmers’ market. I always hit up Whole Foods, though, for bulk spices and gluten free flours. Yesterday I dropped off my fiance at the airport and wandered WF and Anthropologie for a couple of hours just enjoying looking at everything. I enjoyed it so much that when I pick him up next Saturday I was thinking of going in the morning and making a day of wandering around interesting parts of the city by myself until I pick him up in the evening. I’ll definitely be looking into the farmers’ market. Do you possibly have any other suggestions of neat places to go (possibly for someone on a college student’s budget, but I’m happy wandering around just looking at pretty things at pricey places)?

Wow…that is an awesome market!
I really like the looks of that green salad with that omelet…you didn’t mention it!
And I certainly agree with aunt Irene….I loves a good cup of coffee.
Glad you got to take a break and have some down time from that pesky garden that takes over your life!!!! (of course I know this winter you will be oh so grateful that you grew that baby!)
What a nice overnight get away! The market and brunch look great! We all need to get away a few times a year!
