On Monday I spent the afternoon dyeing and sun printing material.
We continue to decrease our use of paper products. I’ve been thinking about all of the kleenex I use after maybe one nose wipe. I have been buying old linens from thrift stores which have included some really beautiful handkerchiefs, but they are usually white. I’m not one who likes white.
I wanted to play with my Setacolor Transparents so I thought it would be nice to try dyeing a couple of those beautiful handkerchiefs.
Here is one before dyeing.

Very pretty on its own, but add some color and the design pops.

Here’s a closeup:

Setacolor Transparents are so easy to use with such great results. I wondered yesterday why I’ve not done more of this sooner. I’ll post my other pieces later on this week. Feels so good to be creative again.
These are gorgeous Lynda! Now will you really be able to blow your nose on these beauties? lol

Those are so pretty! I still have some hankies from when I was a child, we won’t discuss my age! Paper products these days are a lot thinner too, and they don’t hold up like they used to. I’m surprised more people are not going back to the linens. By the way I printed your quiche recipe, I have sooo many eggs!
Ulrike, Thank you! I wish I would have had these done sooner. And let’s not talk age!! Let me know how you like the quiche. I always wondered how we could ever have too many eggs until we had 4 dozen in the refrigerator!! Yikes! Thanks for dropping by.
Can totaly see these in a quilt!!!!
Great job!!!
