For the last several months I’ve been watching my odometer in my 1999 Toyota Corolla, waiting for it to turn over 100,000 miles. So for the weeks before the “event” I checked as I started up the car and during the drives here and there. And then it happened! I was driving home from this class at the East Branch Library, and it had turned on me and I missed it!!

I just couldn’t believe I missed it. It’s been a great car. I bought in brand new in 1999 and I’ve really enjoyed the ride. My mechanic said it should last for another 100,000. Yeah!
This goes in the What Was I Thinking category!

I ordered these irises from Schreiner’s way back in April before the drought, the month-long jury duty, and my decision to quit planting irises! They are huge and they even threw in a bonus. Now to get them in the ground!
Of course the cats are always doing crazy things here. This one I took the other day of Dusty laying on his loveseat in the sun that was coming in from the skylight.

And Puddin would rather be in her cubes.

Well, that’s all for now. Have a great weekend and be sure to come back Monday. I’ll have a giveaway. Yeah! Love giveaways. See you then.
That’s a bummer that you missed the turn over 100k. Isn’t it funny how those milestones are so fun to see.
Cute kitties. Our cat hates being enclosed…she has a great little “house” on each of her condos and won’t go in either. Won’t go in a bag or a box. Apparently she’s claustrophobic.
🙂
Have a great weekend!!
Halle, It’s funny. Before Dusty came along, Puddin wanted nothing to do with those cubes. After Dusty started playing with them she decided they were alright and now spends a lot of time in them! You have a good one too.
Hey Lynda…my car turned over to 200,000 a few weeks ago…and I “missed” it too! Didn’t realize it until 9 miles later. See you at the Sketch Crawl!
Teresa, Wow! And I thought 100,000 was great!
Looking forward to the Sketch Crawl. Hope the weather’s cooler! See you then.
My trusty Subaru made it to 300K! I hated to part with it – like a reliable old steed!
The irises look so healthy! I love them, but just have a few common faded blue kind.
Love the picture of the kitty butt with a sun halo.

Deb, Wow! 300K. That’s great! Yep, those irises are really healthy. Just got to get them in the ground! Thanks for dropping by.
Ha! My husband’s Camey has you all beat by a few turns of the tires.
His Camry had over 300K. It died on the highway one morning with 300,003 miles. then got towed to the junk yard! He even collected a few hundred $$ for it.
Carla (Mimzy), That’s great!! Wow!
Hey, momma bluebird is working on her fourth set. We have our first egg!
Hi! Stopping by from the G+ blog hop! Oh my goodness, I have a cat that looks so much like Puddin. I have bought him 3 of those cubes, but he just hops in for a minute and leaves. Your newest follower. 🙂

Toyota’s are good cars, I’m sure it’s good for another 100k :)) You must drive very little though if it took 13 years for the 100k…I’m afraid my little VW (not a very reliable car unfortunately) is at 90k after only a couple of years. We did drive all the way to Italy and a couple of other tours with it though. I’m actually planning on getting a small Toyota now because they’re supposed to be very reliable and the small ones also use little fuel.

Kristina, I drove some in my jobs until I retired in 06. We do use my car for most of our in town driving and short trips. On long trips we fly. My Toyota gets great gas mileage and it’s been wonderful. This wasn’t my first Toyota. The last one I had I sold it with 100,000 miles on it.
