Oh, my! Have I had fun with my Haul of Martha Stewart Paints from Plaid that I received a couple weeks ago. Here is just a little of what I received.
The most difficult problem I had was deciding what to make with all of those fun products. After playing for awhile I settled in on silkscreens and glass paint.
This is what you need to make this dish:
- glass dish
- rubbing alcohol and cotton balls
- Martha Stewart glass paint
- Martha Stewart snowflake silkscreen
- Martha Stewart dauber
- pan of water
- paint palette
My first step after washing the dish was to clean it with rubbing alcohol.
Next I put the adhesive silkscreen on the glass dish. The silkscreen needs to be smoothed lightly so it adheres to the glass surface.
Using a dauber, I put glass paint onto the silkscreen.
When completely covered with paint, the silkscreen needs to be pulled off of the glass while the paint is still wet. Be sure and rinse the silkscreen right away. I kept a pan of water nearby.
Here is my result.
Pretty! However, I wasn’t satisfied with just one snowflake, so I added more random images.
The paint needs to be either air cured for 17 days or oven baked. I chose to air cure it.
Add candy and I’m set for Christmas!
I found that I could use the silkscreen over and over to make more images on the glass without washing it out. That made it easy to put multiple images on the dish.

I also painted these cute ornament place card holders with the Martha Stewart glass paints.
I found the glass paint fun to play with and really easy to use. If I made a mistake, I could rub the paint off before it dried or scrape it off after it was dry. I liked those nice tips on the glass paint bottles making it easy to apply just a little paint at a time and for making dots on those ornament place card holders. I really liked the silkscreens and the results from them. I’ll have to try them on fabric next!

That looks like fun. I’ve been thinking about doing some painting on wine glasses at the cottage. A great way to distinguish them without needing the little charms on the stem.
