Ronda and Teresa’s Intuitive Art Class at East Branch Library is over. We finished up the four-session class last Monday.
As I mentioned in this post I was feeling way out of my comfort zone. First if all I’ve never painted on a LARGE canvas (24 x 36) or really have painted on much canvas at all. Then Ronda kept telling us not to worry about how it would turn out – to just play. I felt like I didn’t have any control and really didn’t know where we were going with all of this. But after the first class I was feeling better and more comfortable.
We painted on the canvas the first class. The next session we painted over the previous painting and finally after the fourth session we had our finished piece. Here is mine.

And here is the same painting in the first and third sessions. (I didn’t work on it on the second session dedicating that time to the other canvas.)
This was the first layer – Yuck!

Then the next session I brushed lots of color over it and added some details.

And here’s a closeup of the final piece.

My other canvas is not finished. Ronda suggested I put a word on it. I’m going to let it sit for awhile before I get the paints out again.

It was an interesting class that really stretched me – in a good way. I get stuck in my own artist rut and it’s good when I’m pushed to try something new. Thank you Ronda and Teresa for this fun adventure. Here are some pictures of Ronda, Teresa, and the other students working on their masterpieces.

Unfortunately, Mary and Janice did not get in the pictures, but had attended the other sessions. You might recognize some of these women from my Fearless Art Journaling class I taught at East Branch Library a couple years ago.
What a great group of women! The art that were created in this class was awesome! It’s amazing what can be created when we get together with a little guidance and play. As for my finished piece, I’m really happy with it. Dave likes it so it may be gracing one of our walls soon.
Good for you, that you got outside your comfort zone! Looks like it was a great class with some good guidance and inspiration! Looking forward to seeing more of your paintings in the future…
Judy, Thanks! It was a fun, inspirational class. It was neat seeing where everyone else was going with their paintings.
Impressive! I see a lot of talent & creativity. Really looks like fun.
Donna, it was really fun and a great group of creative women! Thanks for dropping by.
Lynda, i swear i know that Pat lady…what is her last name? I didn’t know Scarlet was there too!

What a fun blog Linda. It was great meeting new friends through art and getting out of the “box” with painting, almost like kindergarten again! Looking forward to reading more on your blog 🙂
