I’ve really enjoyed my monthly art calendar journal. I wasn’t sure when I started this back in January if I would keep it up, but I have. Here is my completed April Journal.

I found I really enjoyed the larger writing area, so I made a big change for my May journal.
First of all, I bought these cute napkins that remind me of Italy. It’s been a long time since I’ve worked with napkins. This was going to be fun!

I painted the background with bright yellow and glued the torn napkin on the pages. Instead of making a calendar spread, I divided the pages into two weeks.

Well, it looks like I am a dropout of the Art Journaling Calendar Challenge 2013! Those small squares and even the fold outs just can’t contain my words.
In addition to writing, I’m adding a little doodling and drawing. I think I’ll be able to continue this practice throughout the year. It’s funny. When I started this I wasn’t sure I’d be able to even write enough to fill those tiny spaces. It’s been fun and I really enjoy documenting my days.
I really like the way you used the napkins. What a great looking journal page! It’s neat the way you made the writing area look like the hills.
Where did you buy those wonderful napkins, I love them!
Your May journal pages look fantastic! Keep with it!
Diane, I bought them at Tuesday Morning. Thank you for your kind words!
Connie,
Thanks!
