The weeks sure are going fast on this Feb/March Challenge. I seem to have gotten distracted about what I wanted to accomplish.
The big news from last week was my first outing besides the early morning grocery shopping and doctor/lab appointments. I went to Joann’s. My main reason to go there, besides getting out of the house and doing something normal, was to purchase some flannel for a design board I’m going to install on my door. I’ve been using a curtain on my closet opening, and it just doesn’t work well.
I also ventured out to the local consignment shop. Since I had so much fun making that doily piece in Judy’s class last week, I thought I’d see if I could add to my stash. I found some beautiful doilies and placemats, and they were all half price!!
One of the jackets Judy created with her lace (doily) cloth was from a vintage Vogue pattern. After the class I immediately checked on Etsy and Ebay, and I found it. So it came in the mail the other day, and all of the pieces are still in the packet.
My friend Tena dropped off some fabric I might be able to use in my next piece. That was so sweet.
This week I plan to finish the SAQA CoronaArt quilt, and get it in the mail. All it needs is a little more stitching, facing, a sleeve, and a label. It’s been at this point since the end of December. I hate to finish stuff! But it has got to be done.
But I am making progress on my SAQA Collaborative Quilt due on the 15th.
It’s looking like Spring is coming, but most plants are still sleeping. I really love the look of this Japanese Hakone grass.
And I love these berries from one of the Nandina. However, I have recently found out that they are toxic to birds. Dave keeps our bird feeders full, so they don’t eat these. However, it’s something to think about. A suggestion I read was to prune off the berries then the birds aren’t tempted. I might need to do that next year.
I’m so ready to get out and start working on the gardens, but so much to finish in here!! So what are you up to this week? Would love for you to comment or add a link to your blog. Have a great one!
So glad that you enjoyed your little jaunt out last week. The pieces you found at the thrift shop are going to find themselves in some lovely pieces of fabric.
