Yesterday I took a walk around Happy Acres with my camera. Spotting these surprises made my day.

I usually don’t spot these until they are all blooming.
Been drying a lot of tomatoes. I’ve got a whole countertop full to work on this morning. I snapped a couple shots before they went in to the dehydrator last week. This tray kind of looks like a flag!

I just love all the colors in this one.

I’ve been watching this plant for some time now.

I asked Dave to grow this last year but I have no idea why or where I found information about it but I bet it had to do with soap making!! Here is a better picture to show how large it is so far.
The coleus have been absolutely beautiful this year.

Our sweet Carmens are ready. We had one grilled last night. Yum!

My lavender didn’t do as well as last year. Part of that was because it was so hot that I didn’t get out to pick it. But I have enough until next year’s harvest.

Some lovely little eggplants.
Then these last pictures are my favorite of the coneflowers and black eye susans. Won’t be long and they’ll all be gone.
That’s all for now here. Got to go process the tomatoes. Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Happy Acres, what a neat name for your property. When we moved here in ’79 there is a marble plaque on the front of the house which says ‘Windy Heights’. It lives up to its name as we are on a hill and we get the wind!!
Great pics-the tomatoes are so pretty!
I just read the luffa is cleaned out and dried and the sponge can be used for scrubbing yourself an dirty dishes. Rather cool!! Love these photos. I really love the scent of fresh lavender, nothing like the real thing:)
Flora, I think since it is such a small luffa I was thinking about inbedding it in a batch of soap. Not sure but can’t wait to see how big these little things get! I also love lavender and love to see the bees enjoy the flowers. Thanks for stopping by. Lynda
Bev, Thanks. That was really hubby’s idea. Windy Heights – what a great name! Thanks for dropping by and commenting. Lynda
What a harvest! All those tomatoes… Love the baby eggplant and the huge peppers! Our eggplant plant never really took off but we’ll be soon harvesting peppers as well 🙂

Lynda, your photos are awesome…have you ever sent any to Country Woman? They are always looking for nice photos. Everything looks awesome at your house…I’m going to have to come see sometime!
Kathy, Thanks. Never done that. I’ll check that mag out. Yes, you will need to come over!
Lynda, I think Country Woman or a similar mag might do a whole story on your “Happy Acres”. Your photos are an awesome documentary and you both do such interesting things. It’s one of the reasons I tagged your blog…before I ever met you. I love your blog!
