Happy New Year everyone! Before I get started with this post I wanted to thank you all for all of the kind comments and emails about Sidd. Those kind words have meant so much to me.
We buried him down next to Shel by the beehive. Years ago Deeg had given me rocks with painted pictures of each of my kitties: Shel and Sidd. We put his rock over his grave. So now those two rocks are there side by side. Dave planted catnip and lemon balm over Shel’s grave this past season, so he’ll plant more catnip over his grave this spring. We love all of our animals, but every once in a while there will be a pet that is just so special. That was Sidd.
Yesterday I spent a little time in my new journal. When Oprah announced her LifeClass last Fall, I emailed her site for one of the free journals they were giving away. It’s been so long so I figured they ran out of them. To my surprise, Saturday it came in the mail. I’ve not kept a written journal much in the last couple of years, focusing more on my art journals. I thought I’d like to try to keep one this year.

And speaking about Oprah, yesterday morning I watched I AM, an inspirational film by Tom Shadyak on her Super Soul Sunday. Click HERE for more information on this documentary. What a wonderful way to start out the new year!
I also started my art journal for January with this first page. My word this year is FOCUS. I tend to be scattered a lot of the time, so I’m hoping to really focus on what is important this year.

The window feeder Dave gave me for Christmas is finally getting visitors. This morning there has been a rush on this buffet. It’s so neat to watch them eat right up close and personal!

Thank you all for reading and commenting on my posts this past year. May this be a healthy, joyful and wonderful 2012 for all of you.
The idea for Shel’s and Sidd’s graves is beautiful, I can just imagine them with all the catnip and lemon balm growing over them and the stones. A beautiful resting place.
