Bucket List Trip: Australia

If things have been a bit quiet around here it is because Dave and I just returned home from our bucket list trip to Australia. We spent two and a half weeks traveling this beautiful country visiting Melbourne, Sydney, Ayes Rock, Port Douglas, and Brisbane.

After Dave and I had been dating a short while, he told me that someday he wanted to take me to Australia. He had been there 20 or so years ago and thought that I would just love it. So we put it on our bucket list to go someday. He has a special birthday this year so I thought this trip would be a great way to celebrate it. Oh, and he was so right. I did absolutely love this country!

I’ll be posting more about our trip soon, but wanted to let you see a few things we brought back.

You know I can’t go anywhere without bringing back fabric. Here are a few pieces I found.

Then since we’ve gotten into playing cards while on vacation, I bought a deck in Australia. Also, we bought some soap. We just love to see what combinations other soapers are using in their soaps. These were such lovely bars – Honey, Rosewood and Lemongrass, Honey and Tea Tree, and Honey, Patchouli and Tangerine.

And talking about honey, Dave bought honey while we were there. I had no problem with it as long as it would fit in his suitcase! We did go to a couple honey stores where you could taste each honey. Yum!

While in Australia we took several tours. During our tour of the Daintree Rainforest our guide, Chris, took this picture of us.

Oh, if you want to get Dave’s perspective on the trip, check out his blog. He posted this the day after we got home.

The kitties got to stay at the local cat spa (vet) and were really happy to come home and spend time not just with us, but with each other.

What a fun time! And it’s nice to mark Australia off of our bucket list. More to come later.
