It’s been awhile since I’ve been ice dyeing so I thought it was time to get back to it. Here are just a few of my results.
The following was dyed usingĀ Pro MX Fiber Reactive Dyes on a half yard of fabric: 1/2 teaspoon of Red 505, 1/4 teaspoon of Blue 402c, and a touch of Yellow 108.
This was another one done that day with 1/2 teaspoon of yellow 108 and 1/4 teaspoon of Blue 400.

That was kind of blah. I wanted more blue so the next day I over iced dyed it with the blue and got this. So much better! The fan-fold pattern was gone but the blue made the yellow really pop out and pushed the green back some.

I also ice dyed over one of my soy wax batik prints. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the original batik which was painted blue over writing. The background really adds to this piece, but it’s hard to see in the photo.

That was fun. I love playing with ice. And I’m gathering lots of fabric for my stash! If you’re new to my blog and interested in ice dyeing, check out this page with other posts about this fun dyeing technique.
Oh, and yesterday our first iris bloomed.

Oh, how I love spring. But with it comes lots of outdoor chores and I’ve yet to get the porch cleaned up so we can sit out there. That’s next on my list. Creating will have to wait a day or two.
Gorgeous as usual! I LOVE that deep pink one!

I love the ice dyeing!! Yours is beautiful. Have you tried it with snow? That is fun to do, but can be quite a cold experience. Your iris is beautiful. Mine have just broken ground. We have a few more weeks to go.
Hi Penny, Thank you! Yes I tried it with snow and then when there was no snow I thought I’d try ice since snow is ice crystals and ice dyeing was born!! Cherry Pop is always the first one to show up and early. Hey, thanks for dropping by.
Adrianne, Thanks. The colors are so vibrant which still amazes me! Thanks for dropping by and commenting.
Love the yellow and blue fan folded one.

Rinda, Thanks.
Awesome! Next thing you’ll be doing is making a Monet inspried quilt with those beautiful fabrics.
Connie, Thanks!
I have yet to try this. I think about it and then…forget. š I love how the color mingles.

Halle, I’d love to see what you create. There is something magical about this process.
