I can’t believe it is September already! Where did the summer go?
Before I show you what I’ve been up to this week, I wanted to talk about Speakpipe. On the right of this blog you can click on that link and send me a voice message. It’s so much fun actually hearing your voices! However, if you don’t enter your email address I can’t voice mail or email you back. This week I’ve received two messages I couldn’t respond to. What I have done for those two callers is leave comments on the posts they commented about. So if you want to hear back from me, please leave your email address.
On the last roundup I told you I had moved a recliner into my studio/woman cave. I have to admit that the cats have used it much more than I have.

And then there is Puddin. I was surprised to see her up there since she’s a bit vertically challenged!

In addition to apple leather I make every year, this season I made peach leather from peaches we purchased at one of the local orchards. It’s made like the blackberry leather. All you do is blend the peaches and honey. No cooking required. Then pour onto the dehydrator sheets and wait for it to dry.

I’ve also been working on some fabric. This is my favorite piece so far. I’ll post about all of this soon.
Then we harvested 30 pounds of honey from our one hive. I made a big decision. I’m going to help Dave with the hive. I’ve been pretty scared of the bees, but I’m setting that fear aside and doing it. Of course, he will be there to help and encourage me. Dave posted about this second honey harvest here.

Well, that’s all for this roundup. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Oh my gosh, where to start! The cats are lovely. We have 5 (2 we adopted when they showed up on our doorsteps-3 years ago).
The fabric is a wonderful piece, and then the honey!! They say you need to buy honey in your local area as it helps you stay healthy. Do you sell it?!

Thanks for the inspiration….making peach leather!!
Looks like a busy but very tasty time in your household.
Wow, you’ve been so productive! The fruit leather sounds delicious.

I love these round ups. The fabric is beautiful, as are those bottles of honey. I love the idea of bees and bee hives much more than the reality! LOL!

Rinda, Thanks. With so much going on in summer it’s hard to spend much time posting. I’m a bit scared of the bees but hubby said he’d be with me. And it’s good for me to push through some of my fears! Thanks for commenting.
Sherrie, Thanks. When I post a roundup I realize that I’ve done a lot in the week, although not as much art as I’d like to.
Ellen, Yes, it’s been real busy! I’m looking forward to things slowing down a bit. Thanks for commenting.
Brenda, you are so welcome. Yes, the peach leather is wonderful!
Hi Dolly, Five cats? Oh, my! The most I’ve had is 3 which were a handful but I know when they show up you can’t turn them away! No, we don’t sell our honey. They do sell local honey at the Farmers Markets both in Evansville and Newburgh. Last year I bought a jar from a beekeeper at the Newburgh Farmers Market. She lives a couple miles from us. We like to taste others honeys. We always pick up honey when we travel. Brought several jars back from Australia but it’s almost gone now. Oh, also Rivercity Coop downtown sells local too. Thanks for coming by.
