Now that we will soon enter February, for me time slows. I get so anxious for Spring to come, and I really need some motivation to push through. With the help of Luann at Let’s Create Today we came up with a way to challenge each other focusing on weekly creativity. We’re asking you to join us for the Feb/March Challenge.
Instead of feeling like we need to do something every day, we are focusing on creating during the week. That might include every day, or maybe just one day. The whole focus is to create during this usually gray time, and do it every week.
The one thing about challenges I like is the accountability. It’s like an exercise buddy. If I tell you I am going to do it and show you my updates, then I’m less likely to give up. And to make us all accountable, I’ll be hosting a linky party. More about that later.
So what should you work on during those weeks? That’s up to you. Is there a project or projects you want to complete? This would be a great way of getting them done. But it doesn’t have to be a completion of a project, it can be experimenting with different techniques. So here are some suggestions:
- Work on or complete a new or neglected project.
- Try some different techniques. These could be hand stitching, free motion, dyeing, surface design techniques, stamp carving, or whatever you are interested in.
- I have lots of thread. I thought about experimenting with a different thread during the week.
- If you’ve wanted to use recycled fabric, this would be a great challenge to work with that.
But whatever you choose, be sure it’s something you want to do, and not a burden. This is meant to be fun. And if you find half way through, you don’t like what you are doing, do something else. This is all about getting us to be creative for these coming two months.
We’ll start Monday, February 1. That will be my first post where I will have a linky party for everyone who wants to play to link to their blog about this challenge. I’ll be showing what I plan on working on possibly in the next two months.
Then every Monday for February and March I’ll be posting another linky party on our progress. If you don’t have a blog, you can comment on my post about what you are doing and your progress. By the end of the challenge it will be April and we will be finished with this winter.
If you are already participating in the 100dayproject, we’d love for you to join us and link up what you are doing. I’m looking forward to seeing what all of you are creating.
I sure hope you will join us. Don’t forget, February 1 is when we start. Thanks for dropping by.

Luann, Great! Thanks for inviting your followers. Yeah! Let’s beat those blues and blahs away! Can’t see what you do these next two months.
Sounds like fun – maybe it will help me complete the projects from the 2 workshops I signed up for (virtual, of course)!
Lea, Great to hear from you! Would love to see what you’re working on.
