Happy April 2023!

Well, it looks like spring has sprung. I love this time of the year. I’m so looking forward to getting out, and getting my hands dirty! If you receive my blog post via email and you have wondered where I’ve been, I just found out the last two have not been sent out due to a change with Mailchimp. I went in and checked and it should be working again now.

Everything is coming up including the asparagus! This is our first one and hopefully they’ll be many more to follow!

The Lenten Roses have been blooming for several weeks, even through the rain and cold temps.

The main iris bed is coming up nicely.

The blueberries are starting to bud.

We’ve been eating lovely salads from lettuce Dave has been growing in the greenhouse.

Besides working on that flag I’ve been playing around a bit in the studio. I made this card for a fellow artist’s aunt who is turning 100. I had fun taking pieces of my fabric and weaving them. I sure hope she likes it.

The other thing I did was get out my gelli plate and play with my pan pastels on paper. It’s been so long since I used they so I thought I’d see how they worked. It was fun, but not sure I want to do much more of it. I did try one print on fabric and it was too light. Looks like I need a bit of practice.

I’ve changed my mind about what I’m going to submit for the Osnabruck Textile Challenge that I talked about in this post. I just didn’t like how it turned out so I’m starting again. Also I was planning on working on some memory art quilts and thought I would use my grandma’s quilt as the background. I’ve pretty much given that up also. I got out the quilt which is pretty battered with lots of holes in it. I put it on the floor to cut it, and Molly decided it was for her! Then I moved it to my chair which Ally took over!!

I can’t believe it’s already April. I’m glad it’s here,  but I can’t believe how fast this year is flying by. Thanks for dropping by.
