We traveled on through town to Oregon Street where the display would light up the sky. No need for directions – just follow the lights. We got there and sad to say all was dark. The two houses and the lot with scaffolding still erected and the house across the street were all dark. How could this be? What happened? Another tradition gone. When I returned home I posted on facebook and I got my answer. Mr Schneider died a couple years ago.
I took pictures in 2005, the last time we were there. However, they really don’t do justice to his display. It wasn’t uncommon during the Christmas season to see cars lined up and people out walking taking it all in. When Dave and I were there, he was there talking to everyone. It was pretty gaudy and over the top, but it also was so sweet of that man who many of us didn’t know. He brought such happiness to all who came by.

I found this video on The Evansville Courier website shot in 2008.
The last light show we didn’t go to this year, but here is a video to show you this wonderful display, Fantasy of Lights, which all of the money raised goes to the Easter Seals.
I hope your Christmas season is bright and that you are able to celebrate with those you love. Merry Christmas!
Light decorations always make the celebration grand and so to this Christmas celebration too 🙂 Merry Christmas (Nice pics)
