Well, it’s looking like it’s Spring here at Happy Acres. Yesterday, we opened up the porch to let the cats enjoy the warm temps. This not the official opening since I need to wash down the floor, clean the furniture and bring out the cushions but it was like a “soft” opening.

The first to enjoy the porch was Sidd who quickly found a place and fell right to sleep. He’s always been my sun kitty – loving to soak it all up. I had to carry him in when it turned dark.
The last several days I’ve spent some time cleaning up around the yard. So far I’ve potted 20 irises for the Master Gardeners’ annual plant sale in May and also raked lots of leaves from beds, especially from the hostas. And look what I found!

I’ve been working on remulching the path between the blueberries. Elizabeth is one of our early bushes and she’s starting to bud with those beautiful blue fruits.

Then to check on the cherries.

The sedums always look so pretty when they peak out from the leaves.

My friend Barbara gave me some Astilbes from her garden last year to finish out our new shade garden. With the drought last year I wasn’t sure they would make it, but they are starting to come up.

And then the lilac bush is starting to show blooms. Yeah!

Then we just had to celebrate the first day of Spring by checking out a new frozen yogurt shop in town.

I mixed coconut with red velvet cake. Then topped with M&Ms. Oh, how I love Spring!
Lovely spring photos Lynda! Aren’t cats sleeping in the sun the most beautiful thing ever? That frozen yogurt looks yummy 🙂
