Inspiration from Sedona

I love when we travel. It’s such a great way to see and soak up different places. We recently returned from vacation, and I brought back so much inspiration from Sedona.

Everywhere I looked, I saw art and also sights that took my breath away. From our condo every day we watched as these rocks transformed depending on the light of the day.

My favorite art shop that sells just art created by Arizona artists is Artist Market. It’s not in the main shopping district of Sedona, but not far away and easier to park. It also had the best selection of art. We shopped there twice. Another added bonus is a thrift store next door!

My friend Judy has a booth there with all of her lovely creations.

And here is more art that can be purchased at this shop.

The Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village is right downtown. It has lots of lovely art, but again I found the Artist Market my favorite place. At this shopping center I saw a lot of beaded art which I really found very interesting.

Art was even found in the bathroom!

There was also an interesting shop on our way back from one of our hikes. It has been there for years. It has a lot of junk, but also some neat metal stuff!

Even Safeway’s bagels were a sight to see.

The Church of The Holy Cross was beautiful both inside and out. They also had a nice gift shop where I bought a couple things for my sis.

We always like to bring a piece of art home. We met Therese Tice at one of those pop up art fairs and spent a lot of time talking to her. She was so interesting. I couldn’t believe I didn’t take a picture of her, but we did buy this piece and I bought a pair of earrings at the Artist Market on our second trip there. The technique she used for this piece is airbrush with acyrlics. I had never seen anything like it. Looking forward to framing and hanging it.

So much inspiration in that lovely area. I hope one of these pictures has inspired you this morning. I plan to create some art to blog about, but since returning home there seems to be so much to catch up on. Although I hate the thought of winter, I have sure been enjoying these cool temps. Thanks for dropping by.
