I took a trip over to Mount Saint Francis Center for Spirituality to see Penny Sisto’s newest exhibit, Angels Among Us. It was just last April when we made the trek over to see her Turning 80 exhibit at Carnegie Center in New Albany, Indiana. She’s amazing how she can produce such beautiful works in such a short time.
I love listening to her stories about the quilts. I always leave so inspired.
Choosing my favorite is always hard, but this year Sun-Flowers won my pick.
Here are a couple close ups. Look at that face.
She used an old quilt as a backing for the following one called Star. I’ve never seen her use an old quilt in her work.
This was a lovely one called Frida’s Heart.
Love this one also.
And another.
These were just a few quilts from this exhibit. I always am so inspired when I leave after seeing her work.
We stopped off at Seed and Greens in New Albany for lunch before heading back home. What a great day away.
If you’d like to see her beautiful art in person, Penny’s exhibit is open through November 9 in Mount St. Francis, Indiana. It’s well worth the trip if you live nearby.
Her work is so amazing! What a day of inspiration. Thanks for sharing — I only wish I could see her quilts in person.
