Yes, I’m at it again. I just completed another studio redo. It seems like it’s been awhile but I did redo the studio last April. I was never happy with the arrangement, and always felt overwhelmed. My new friend, Dawn Murtaugh, volunteered to drop by and give me her suggestions and it really helped me to move out of my box. Below are pictures of my new studio!
This is what I see when I walk in.
This is the desk area. I’ll be hanging the very first ice dyed piece from back in 2011 (you can see it on the floor) over the desk once we move these cable wires.
Then the sewing area. I put my serger in the closet in easy reach when I want to use it. My ole Elna has it’s on sewing desk in the closet.
I love how I’ve corralled some of my fabric in those fabric bins inside this hutch. I didn’t realize how crazy the mess was making me!
I also love how I’ve stored my fabric in those cubes by color on this shelf so I can easily access it instead of digging through the hutch.
The room is challenging because of the picture window and the other window taking up two walls and the third one is a closet, but it has all come together.
The reason for my push to reorganize my studio is because I bought a new sewing machine, a Juki! I’ve been wanting to buy one of these for quite awhile, and now she has come home to my newly reorganized studio!
Now I have no reason to procrastinate! Thanks again to Dawn for her helping to organize this mess. It’s amazing how much calmer I feel in this room. I’ll be back next time with some inspiration from my trip to Paducah, Kentucky to purchase my Juki. Hope to see you then.
My favorite item is the large brown recliner. But the super fabric organization is a close second. Good for you!

Hi Judith! Yes, the recliner is really nice to sit and read, watch TV or draw. Thanks for dropping by.
Where did you get those round “bucket” like bins that hang off your roller cart? That’s what I have been looking for too.
Dolly, I believe I got those from Ikea online.
It is great to have a spot for everything and having it organized really helps. That doesn’t mean it will stay organized! Where do you do your dyeing?
Jane, It really does help to have a place for everything. My dyeing is done in my dye studio, aka the garage! Here is a post I wrote several years ago on the before and after of the reno of it. https://lyndaheines.blog/2015/10/29/dye-studio-revamping/
Love your set up!! I love having a window to see outside!! Great Job!!
Pam, Thanks! Yes, I love having that large window. Lots of light and I also can see what Dave is doing outside!
